Sanctuary’s nonprofit arm providing zero-to-low-cost, in-home postpartum doula care for families who need it most
Why This Work Matters
Our mission is to empower growing families to thrive by providing comprehensive perinatal support, bridging disparities through access to funding, and championing systemic change to improve maternal and family health outcomes.
Because when a family feels calm, confident, and capable in the early stages of life, they can provide the love and care their baby needs, forming deep connections that last a lifetime.
Support Our Work
Your donation makes zero-to-low-cost, in-home postpartum doula care possible for families who need it most.
Through your support, parents receive hands-on care, emotional support, and guidance during one of the most critical and vulnerable periods after birth. Most families receive 12–24 hours of in-home support, tailored to their needs.
This level of care improves maternal and infant health outcomes while strengthening confidence, stability, and well-being for families across Colorado’s Front Range.
Consider making a one-time gift or becoming a monthly donor—and check if your employer offers matching gifts to amplify your impact.
Together, we can ensure more families receive the care and support they deserve after birth.
The Need
Unfortunately, in the U.S., the vital support new mothers need after childbirth is often missing. This gap leaves many women facing significant mental, physical, and emotional challenges—impacting their well-being, relationships, and ability to bond with their babies.
This lack of support disproportionately affects marginalized communities, particularly BIPOC mothers, during a crucial period for recovery and newborn development.
The impact of this gap is significant:
80%
of maternal deaths are PREVENTABLE
67%
of maternal deaths occur in the postpartum period
25%
of mothers experience postpartum depression and/or anxiety
40%
of mothers miss their six-week post-delivery checkup
